Key Features
The Houbei, like a ton of their wallets, is one that can be custom ordered to your likeling, A primary and secondary color of leather, which comes from Conceria Walpier Tannery in Italy, can be choosen to customize your wallet to fit your style. To sew it all together, they have high quality Ritza 25 Tiger Thread, which also is customizeable in color. It is clear after over a month of abuse and wear, the thread and high quality leather is going to be one that endures the test of time, which is what you want in a high quality custom wallet. The Houbei has a quick access rear pocket, two triangularly formed card pockets, and one final larger pocket for cash and/or more cards. To finish it off, there is a flap that conceals all the interior pockets. Many store their bills without folding them, so half of the US dollars follow the flap when it is tucked closed. |
Conclusion
The Houbei by Open Sea Leather was a fun wallet to carry around. It's design details didn't go unnoticed, as I had a lot of people compliment the way my wallet looked. My "cons" were nitpicky, as they could easily be mitigated by carrying an RFID protecting card or by getting a slightly different wallet from their company that was more focused on cards than cash, like the Kam wallet. At the end of the day, this was a really neat wallet with a neat story that was joyful to carry around with me.
