The Magnut by Keybar: Tough and Convenient

Picture
Overview
The MagNut by KeyBar is a tough and convenient tool that goes great on one's keychain.  Throughout over six months of use, the MagNut assembly has shown it's durability with no defects, despite it being heavily used and tested. KeyBar has spent years making durable items for everyday use in the Keychain world and it shows with the American made MagNut.  Below we will share a few of our opinions on the product after many months of use.
Pros
There are a lot of reasons to like the MagNut. First and foremost, it clearly looks pretty cool.  You probably wouldn't be reading this or watching reviews on it if you didn't like the way it looks. Secondly, it is tough in two ways. Not only are the actual magnets strong enough to hold the two sides together under some pretty severe loads, but the manufacturing on all the components are such that it won't fall apart after a few weeks or months. The final reason that this product is so nice to have on a key chain is that it is convenient.  The MagNut gives users the easy option to pop on and off frequently used keys and you can place either side of the key chain on something that is metal. I typically pop mine off when going on a run and attach the other side to the refrigerator or metal door frame, so I can reattach when I get back.

Cons
The MagNut isn't without flaws, so let's talk about them.  As one would expect, no magnet is perfect, so there have been a few times where the magnet will break unintentionally.  This mainly happens when all my keys are in my pocket and I grab just the small key chain on one end and yank it.  Another annoying point is that the small rings that come with the MagNut are hard to pry open.  The final and most frequently occurring pain point is that the MagNuts tend to flip backwards and get stuck on those small rings just mentioned and because they are strong magnets, it is difficult to get the back facing the same way at times.
Conclusion

In summary, the MagNut is a great product and would be a really good gift for someone's birthday or the holidays.  I think the ruggedness, looks, and convenience significantly outweigh its slight inconveniences.  Personally, I will probably continue to use it unless I'm forced to test something as an alternative because I am such a big fan of what it brings to the table with such a simple design.
